Las Vegas Welcomes New Brand with Red Rock

Red Rock’s first locations will open in September. The gaming and entertainment brand Red Rock recently received important approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission, which voted in favor of the company gradually rolling out locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

The company’s new brand is called Seventy Six to commemorate its founding year, 1976. The Seventy Six brand will consist of smaller entertainment locations, called “taverns” in line with their Americana-themed design. Tavern also has a legal denotation in the state of Nevada, where these types of venues are allowed to offer up to 15 gambling machines, alongside food and drink.

Each of the seven locations, which are projected to open by the start of 2026, will offer an assortment of amenities to visitors. Guests will be able to bet, watch sports, and enjoy refreshments and food from the bar and restaurant. The locales should offer a more intimate and relaxed alternative to Las Vegas’s larger casino resorts. There are already many such taverns across Nevada, to cater to the tastes of local players wanting to avoid larger, busier venues.

When Can We Expect Them

The first two location launches are already planned and will both crop up in the North Las Vegas area by the end of September this year, meaning Red Rock has only a limited time to get its operations up and running. If all goes well, the two locations at Centennial Parkway and on North Lamb Boulevard will be the pilot projects from which the rest of the locations can be modeled.

Though Red Rock may not be as much of a household name as MGM or Hard Rock, the company has certainly made waves in the entertainment industry due to its many ventures. For example, the company opened the Durango Casino & Resort in 2023, which has already been praised by visitors. An expansion of this location is now in the works.

Red Rock is also planning a new casino property by the name of Inspirada Station, inspired by the name of the Inspirada neighborhood in Henderson, Nevada. Red Rock also operates mini-casinos under the brand name of Wildfire. These have gradually grown as well, in line with an overall growth strategy that of course now includes the Seventy Six Taverns.

Expected Results

With the new brand, the company is going even further in addressing the needs and interests of a lucrative gaming market—that of local Nevadans. Though the state is known for gambling, particularly within Las Vegas and the Strip, it is sometimes forgotten that Nevada’s gambling scene is not only about the tourists.

The fact is, those who live in the state full-time also represent a significant amount of business for gaming companies—a portion that Red Rock is doing its best to tap into. The Nevada Gaming Control Board estimates that this sector was worth $147 million in gross gaming revenue just in the month of June 2024. That number is also growing in comparison to recent years.

Those in the know will also notice that there is a touch of family drama to the story of Red Rock’s new taverns: Red Rock CEO Frank Fertitta is related to Golden Entertainment CEO Blake Sartini. Golden is also known for its tavern locations. However, according to the Nevada Independent, this development is less of a family feud and more of a “family truce.”
